Last Year Disneyland Came To Apple Trees!
Flamstead Scarecrow festival is the biggest event the village holds and one that is visited by thousands of families every year, this year it will take place on Friday 11th August*, Saturday 12th August and Sunday 13th August. It’s a cost effective, fun filled day that all the family can enjoy. Every year Apple Trees Child Care takes part in spectacular fashion and puts on a great event of our own while supporting the festival. Last year we turned our setting into Disneyland and had a host of characters meeting and greeting the children whist on their parade. We had balloons, autograph books and Queen Elsa herself performing Disney songs. Our Disney Cafe provided great hot and cold refreshments and the bouncy castle and games were enjoyed by all. Below are a selection of pictures that show just how much fun we had, more of which can be seen on our Facebook page here.
The staff and children put in so much effort and our scarecrow display was fantastic and received many compliments throughout the weekend. Our visitors were wowed last year to the point that we received many emails and messages of thanks. A comment that was made on numerous occasions was: ‘This has been a highlight of the Flamstead scarecrow festival, how will you ever top this next year?’
This Years Theme…
This year as suggested above, we had the mammoth task of thinking of a theme just as good as last year. We contemplated…….for hours…….then days…….and weeks. We changed our minds a number of times and in the end we decided on this……..drum roll please! Our theme for this year is ‘Children’s Television Through The Ages’. This year we are going to bring the different generations of your family together and transport you all on a journey through the ages where grandparents down to great grandchildren can enjoy telling tales of their favourite shows while being reminded of their favourite childhood characters.
Whats On At Apple Trees This Year?
This year we have put our thinking caps on to provide another entertaining event for the whole family and this is what you will find at Apple Trees if you visit us over Flamstead Scarecrow Festival this year.
Scarecrows – This year we are doing 3 scarecrow displays all of which are top secret so you will need to visit us to see them. We hope they will look as fantastic as last year!
Family Quiz – this is linked to our displays, its free and there are prizes for all who take part.
Open Day – Why not come along and while you are here take advantage of a tour of our setting and look at our fabulous facilities. You can also meet the team. Great if you are considering childcare in the future. We do get very busy with viewings so if you would like to secure a time for yours just email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will book you in.
‘TV Dinners’ Cafe – Our cafe will be open once again for reasonably priced hot and cold refreshments. Great if you are feeding a family!
Bouncy Castle – Let the kids have a bounce while you enjoy a sit down with a coffee and a cake.
Games – We will have a host of favourite games for the children to take part in and our famous tombola will be in operation once again. Last year we had 300 prizes on it!!!!
Characters – This year Ben and Holly will be coming along to meet and greet the children and they will be joined by Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol. All free and the children will be so excited to see them. A must if you have little ones!
Fun and Furry Petting Farm – A number of small animals will be available in our enclosed garden to stroke and get up close to. This is being run by Ark Farm who are fantastic with the children and will give you a fabulous experience. Again this is Free!
Face Painting – Another favourite with the little ones, who knows which character they will choose?
